This was a welcome retreat at the end of the 11th day of cycling for my son and I on our charity tandem cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats. We stayed in early June 2019.
Geoff and Kirstie, our hosts, were very friendly and helpful, storing our tandem in the shed and showing us to our ‘superior twin’ room. This was well decorated whilst retaining much of the character of this period building. We had loaded our panniers with food at the Co-op in Pitlochry and Kirstie provided us with plates, cutlery and a chopping board so that we could eat in style.
There was plenty of room for us to lay out our kit for re-organisation. The beds were comfortable and we had a good, quiet night’s sleep.
There was a full range of hot and cold food for breakfast which was served in the conservatory overlooking the garden. We indulged heavily knowing that the next place we could get any food was in Newtonmore, 35 miles and about 3 ½ hours away by tandem.
We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend a visit.
