This grand and extremely solid looking 15th century ex-abbey provided the first night’s accommodation on the Land’s End to John O’Groats tandem ride I made with my son at the end of May 2019.
We had set off late so were extremely happy to reach this very welcoming place to stay at the end of the day. The tandem was safely stowed away in an outbuilding and we were shown to our room, which was clean and comfortable. We soon made it look messy, disgorging our pannier bags onto the floor and hitting the excellent shower.
After a very comfortable night’s sleep we had an expertly cooked Full English breakfast to fortify us for the day’s cycling ahead. There was a wide selection of cooked dishes available in addition to cereals and continental style options.
Overall an excellent place to stay.
