I stayed here during my 2023 John O’Groats to Lands End ride, when I was accompanied by my wife and 13 year old son, who were acting as support crew.
The Schiehallion Hotel is situated in the town, opposite the Coop, a Jet garage and Indian Takeaway. It comprises a number of rooms on two floors above the pub, which are accessed via a separate entrance towards the back on the side of the building. Dinner is available in the pub.
We shared a large family room with double and sofa bed. The bathroom was also large with a shower only and useful heated towel rail. The accommodation is simple and functional with no frills.
A continental buffet breakfast is available in the pub with a cooked breakfast to order but with 140 miles to tackle I was up and off to early to try it.
There is free overnight parking in a public car park behind Coop along with parking directly outside for up to one hour to allow for drop off or pick up.
My bike was locked securely away in cellar at the back of the building accessed by staff. Be careful of the steps which are ancient and rounded, especially if wearing cleats!
