At the end of our 10th day’s cycling on a Lands End to John O’Groats charity tandem ride, my son and I were very pleased to stay here at the beginning of June 2019. It was at the end of a tough day from Moffat, fighting a growing headwind but through wonderful scenery.
The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, making sure our tandem was securely hidden away in one of their back offices. It wasn’t the easiest thing to do and involved taking bits off and a lot of patient wiggling but they were very accommodating.
The en-suite room was clean, bright, modern, spacious and comfortable. We were able to refresh ourselves and clean our kit in the shower and there was a heated rail to help dry the kit out, ready for the next day. It was a quiet room and we slept well, which is not always the case once the body starts to suffer from day after day of cycling.
Fantastic breakfast. Cereals and continental style in addition to a full range of cooked item with a lovely outlook over the gardens.
