This property offers a campsite but we stayed in the B&B accommodation within the newly renovated farmhouse. It was at the end of the third day of a tandem cycle ride from Lands End to John O’Groats I was undertaking with my son at the end of May 2019.
The first thing to greet you, after the wonderfully friendly and welcoming host, is a splendid staircase. At the top of this are 3 ensuite bedrooms. Our room was really well appointed, being very modern but with more than a passing nod to the building’s past, for instance in the wooden latch doors.
We had the most comfortable stay and breakfast, taken downstairs was a delight. Jo, our host, had even put up a birthday banner to celebrate my son’s 15th birthday! Not only that but when we left she sent us off with some cake, a birthday candle and some matches so that he could have a birthday celebration when we stopped later for lunch.
All in all a really great place to stop: clean, comfortable, quiet, great food and a lovely host. Oh, and a large barn to store the tandem overnight.
