I stayed here at the end of my second day on my Land’s End to John O’Groats ride in June 2014. After 125 miles along wet roads and muddy canal paths it was a welcome retreat, sat just off a quiet lane in the countryside few miles from the old Severn Road Bridge.
My hosts were very welcoming and friendly offering their garden hose to wash the mud and grime from my bike before locking it securely in an outhouse. My room was beautifully decorated and appointed with a view of the excellently maintained garden. I was also very pleased to wash the mud and grime from myself in the ensuite which had plenty of hot water and a radiator upon which I could dry my freshly washed cycling kit. The room was very quiet and I slept well. So well it was a struggle to get up for the Full English cooked breakfast which set me up nicely for the day’s ride to Stafford.
