I stayed at Kedleston View at the end of my 3rd day of my Lands End to John O’Groats cycle in February 2019.

The owners, Rachel and Paul, were very friendly and helpful, stowing my bicycle in their garage and helping me in with my bags.

I stayed in the single room, which was compact but had everything that I needed, including an innovative ensuite wet room with copious amounts of hot water, ideal for the weary cyclist looking for revival (washing his kit).  The room was very comfortable and quiet and promoted good sleep.

The building has been very well refurbished to a high standard and offers 4 rooms.  The other 3 were to the same high quality and more spacious.  The room at the top could even sleep 5 at a push.

Paul took the early shift and was good enough to provide me with a cook breakfast at 7am, allowing me to hit the road by 7:30 (with 140 miles to cover that day).  There was a fine spread of cereals etc and the bacon and scrambled eggs I ordered went down a treat and kept me going all morning.

A cycling paradise?  Well, the Sky team has been known to cycle by the B&B  – Dave Brailsford lives a couple of miles up the road apparently.
